In continued sadness, 20-year-old Raymondite Colby Alford, son of Sara Reid and big brother to Jacob Alford, passed away on February 8, 2026. Colby lived with disabilities his entire life, but that was never what defined him. What defined him was his beautiful spirit, his gentle soul, and that constant smile that could light up any room.

Colby loved the simple things — the things that really matter. He loved sitting outside, listening to the sounds of nature. The wind, the birds, the quiet moments where everything felt calm. That was where he seemed happiest. Colby was loved by everyone who met him. There was something about him that made people softer, kinder, more patient. Colby shared a special bond with his younger brother, Jacob. Jacob always cared for him and protected him in ways that only a brother can. Their bond was pure, loyal, and full of love, and it is something that will always be part of Colby's legacy.

Although her heart is broken, Sara takes comfort in knowing that Colby is now free from pain, free from limitations, and finally at peace. Memorial services were held at Hinds Independent Methodist Church in Raymond, MS on February 14, 2026, with visitation starting at 11:00am and service to follow at 11:30am. Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park.
