The Town of Terry is gearing up for America 250 in a big way! Banners are coming soon showing dates of all events. The ringing of all church bells will be heard on July 4 at noon - as in 1776 in Philadelphia.

On Wednesday. July 8 at 1 o'clock in Terry City Hall the reading of the Declaration of Independence will be read by Mayor Bruce Hopkins. There will be patriotic songs by Mrs Davis.

Monty Wilson will serve as MC. Mark your calendars - George Washington is coming to the patriotic event!! Lemonade and home made cookies as well.

The meeting held at Terry Community Center on the water meter issues did not satisfy the constituents. I understand there will be another meeting, in the near future, with more information provided and forth coming. My neighbor, Butch Patterson has a beautiful garden growing again this season.

He has moved it closer to his house due to Rachel's illness. It's so nice to see gardens in the neighborhood, reminding us of years past when almost every home had a beautiful garden filled with fresh vegetables. We were saddened to hear of Billy Broadwater s death last week.

He lived in Terry his entire life and a graduate of Terry High School. We extend our sincere condolences to his wife, Linda and the entire Broadwater/ Kitchens family. He was the son of the late Harvey and Leila Broadwater that lived on L e b a n o n - P i n e g r o v e Road.
