Recently read the obituary for Mr. Henry Carney of Crystal Springs. He served his community for many years in varied positions. I knew him as owner of Crystal Springs Meteor. Anytime copies were needed or year books printed - we headed to The Meteor. He was always patient and kind. His funeral is Tuesday, Aug 25 at 11 am, Crystal Springs Methodist Church with interment in the CS Cemetery.
Rooney Davis hosted a group in her home recently. The sausage balls, cookies and fruit were delicious. Roony served tea in mint julep glasses that added to the gathering. Everyone had a Kentucky Derby and mint julep story to tell!

The college always ranks in top "most beautiful campuses in America". Fredna has commented on the natural beauty in the area.
