Terry News

The Terry Police Department is accepting donations of candy for the Trunk or Treat event that will be held on Thursday, Oct 29th. The candy donations can be dropped off at Terry City Hall at 315 W Cunningham. This is a wonderful and safe event for the youth in our community. We urge everyone to participate in this project.

The Ella Bess Austin library will sponsor Trick or Treat all day on Oct. 29 and 30. Wear your costumes!

The James Foster Chapter, MSS-DAR, Terry, sponsored a lovely reception in the MS Governors Mansion on Wed afternoon honoring Cynthia McNamara. Cynthia won by a landslide at Continental Congress in Washington the title of Honorary Vice President General. The position is held for a lifetime. Joining the James Foster Chapter was Cindy Rice and the Nahoula Chapter of Laurel. Several national officers were in attendance. Guests were served petite fours, fruit, mints and punch. There was a lovely flower arrangement of peonies on the table. There were approximately 100 guests enjoying the affair.

The Copiah Chapter of DAR had a tree planting at the Lake in Crystal Springs. The Mayor was present for the event and welcomed everyone. After the planting a social was held in the Visitor Center. Joyce Huskey gave a program on the Liberty Tree that was enjoyed by all in attendance.

The Lake area has so much work going on and will obviously be upgrades for the community. We look forward to the finished product.
