The Town of Terry special call board meeting was held on Tuesday evening. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss America 250. All municipalities are requested to have some type of ceremony or program to commemorate the event. The officials had several ideas to include: parade, gospel singing, history of the Town of Terry, etc. Final plans to be announced at later date.

The Historic Preservation Committee has planted the official America 250 Elm tree in the Arboretum. This was a donation from Sheriff Tyree Jones. We look forward to the dedication of the tree and event.

A beautiful party at the Governors Mansion on Thursday evening for Friends of the Mansion. The weather cleared and was perfect for an outdoor party. The gardens are so lovely. There were several florist creating beautiful arrangements with exquisite flowers. If you were lucky and your name drawn you went home with one of the arrangements. A silent auction of paintings, by local artists, was on display. The MS Museum Store had exquisite costume jewelry and other items for sale as well. The food and beverages were delicious. A perfect Spring evening.

The drive to Natchez on Tuesday was pleasant. It was cloudy with no rain. A stop at Katie's Lady's is always fun. She has a beautiful collection of clothes and accessories. Top this off with a visit to Hot Mamas Tamales and the day is a big success. Then drive the streets and view one historic house after the other - such an historical town in MS. that we can be proud to claim.
