The Terry Grove Missionary Baptist Church is sponsoring a Youth Praise Program on Saturday, July 20, starting at 3 o’clock. The TG Dance Ministry Group will be presenting the program under the direction of Pastor Scottie Willis, Jr. The public is invited to attend.

The church will host Family and Friends Day on Sunday, July 21 at 11 o’clock. The guest speaker will be Pastor Arthur A. Sutton. The church is located at 323 Raymond St. and may be contacted at: 601-878-2044. Pastor Dion Sanders is minister at the church.

The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, has graciously been invited to join in with St. Luke Church in Brandon on Aug 7th at noon. The RT. Rev Dorothy Sanders will be coming.

The Mayoral Committee will sponsor a Farmers Market and Food Truck on Saturday, July 20 from 8 am to 2 pm. The event will be in The Village Square Park, directly in front of Terry City Hall. Everyone is encouraged to stop by and pickup fresh vegetables and support our local farmers.

My neighbor, Butch Patterson, knocked on my door the other day with a bag of tomatoes he had grown in his garden. The Pattersons live on Raymond Street. If you haven’t been by their property - it is a treat to see their beautiful garden. He has one every year and takes great pride in it. I remember when most of the houses in the small town had gardens. I especially remember our families, Mrs. Mitchell’s and others throughout the town. They worked diligently to provide fresh vegetables and fruits for their families and friends. It seems, for now, this is a bygone era.
